A scraper site is a website that uses content copied from other websites. The goal is to use this content to attract visitors and then monetize this traffic by showing visitors banners or text links. If the goal is to use links to manipulate rankings in online search results, we also speak of a link farm.
The content may have been copied manually, or with the help of a crawler. Most scraper websites infringe copyright.
Scraper sites are also referred to as Made for AdSense or made for advertising. When these sites apply arbitrage, part of the traffic comes from a paid source.
