The websites link to each other and thus influence the algorithm of search engines. This form of link building can result in better findability.
This method of search engine optimization is seen by search engines as manipulation(black hat SEO). Link farms make it possible for low-quality websites to rank higher. Search engines like Google are constantly active in combating linkfarming and other types of manipulation, both manually and using algorithms. Linkfarms that are exposed can count on a severe penalty or complete removal from listings.
