Touchscreen
Also called: touch screen
Touschscreens are a special type of display that are sensitive to touch. The user of a touch screen can control the user interface by touching with the fingers or a special type of pen (a stylus).
The touch screen usually serves as a replacement for a mouse cursor. A virtual keyboard also allows the user to type through the screen.
Virtually all smartphones and tablets have touch screens. Touchscreens are now also increasingly common in laptops and "regular" computer screens. Finally, touchscreens are also popping up in public spaces, for example in the form of advertising pillars and in ATMs for debit, travel or parking.
