Opacity
Also called: opacity or opaqueness
Opacity is another word for opacity. Opacity is the opposite of transparency. Nevertheless, in the day-to-day business of graphic design and Web development, the terms opacity and transparency are often used interchangeably.
The opacity of a design layer in a graphics file or an HTML element of a Web page is usually expressed as a percentage. A lower percentage results in more transparency, with the result that underlying colors and details become more visible.
The CSS property opacity is supported in all modern browsers. A common notation for the color and opacity of a pixel or element is RGBA.
