Machine learning
Machine learning is a term that refers to the automation of thinking and computing power. It involves building systems that can learn from processed data and use this knowledge to perform better. Machine learning is a part of artificial intelligence.
Broad application of machine learning
Machine learning is smart software capable of taking over and outperforming human actions and decisions. This functionality is widely used today. Many organizations are using machine learning to improve their offerings, work more efficiently and ultimately generate greater returns. Some of the uses of this form of artificial intelligence include communicating with banks, shopping online or using social media.
Algorithmsform the basis of machine learning. This roughly involves the use of two types of algorithms:
- Supervised learning involves learning with supervision. In this form, a data scientist will feed the system and teach the algorithm what conclusions to draw from specific information.
- Unsupervised learning involves unsupervised learning. In this form, a computer will learn to identify complex processes and patterns without human involvement. This is an independent form of machine learning. In this form, human knowledge can be surpassed.
