Registrar
A registrar is a company designated by the registry of a domain extension as one of the parties where domain names can be registered. The registrar handles the domain name application on behalf of the registry and charges the registration fee to the domain name owner.
Those who want to register a domain name can choose their own registrar, depending on the extension. Often hosting providers are also domain registrars or are affiliated with a registrar. This allows a domain name to be requested at the same time as a hosting subscription.
