Weblog

A weblog is a special Web site, or a specific part of a larger site, where articles are posted on a regular basis, generally by one person. Sometimes a weblog is also managed by a group of individuals or a company. Articles are published in chronological order, creating a digital log. Hence the term weblog, or blog for short.
Articles usually consist of text. Variants of a weblog include a photo blog, podcast (audio) and a video blog(vlog). Often visitors can post comments under the posted blog posts. The word "weblog" first appeared in 1997. Keeping a personal journal on the Internet became popular with a wider audience at the beginning of this century with the advent of accessible blogging systems to maintain a weblog, such as WordPress and Blogger.
