Search result
Also called: search engine result page(SERP)
The search result, also called Search Engine Results Page (SERP), is the results page containing links to the web pages found by the search engine for an entered search query. Search results are ranked by relevance and authority, based on the algorithm of the search engine used. Results can be distributed across multiple pages, with a position at the top of page 1 being the most likely to be clicked on.
Within results pages, there is a distinction between organic results (ranked by content criteria) and sponsored results (advertisers participating in the search engine's advertising program, such as Google Ads).
Of the results found, in addition to the URL, a title and a short snippet are usually displayed to give an impression of the context within which the keywords entered are used and what the user can expect from the page behind the link.
