Core Web Vitals
Core Web Vitals are a new set of metrics that further quantify the user experience on your site. According to Google, page experience is the part you need to focus on in order to be higher visible in the search engine. These Core Web Vitals are based on various studies and, according to Google, intended to support website owners in improving the user experience. In the current search algorithm, Google considers the following factors:
- Website security
- Mobile-friendly
- Intrusive notifications or pop-ups
Page experience
The metrics, called Core Web Vitals, are page experiences measured on your Web site. The definition of page experience according to Google is "aspects that measure how users experience a Web page beyond the pure information value of that page." So this is precisely where things outside the relevance of your content come into play. The content on your website may be perfect for findability, but if a user has to wait a long time for the shopping cart to load or is bombarded with banners, chances are the user will leave your website.
Optimize user experience
To optimize the page experience, you need to consider the user's view. The customer journey should be smooth. Here Google makes the comparison with a journey in the "real world. If you have an appointment in an unfamiliar city, you don't want to trip over loose stones on the street, have to take a detour because certain roads are closed and end up in a traffic jam. For this reason, Google sets out three things that must be right on every page of a Web site:
According to various analyses, 24% of users are less likely to leave your site if you score well on LCP, FID and CLS. That's why it's important to get these things right.
