Organization Chart

An organization chart or organizational chart is a schematic representation of the structure of an organization. The organization chart is a visual representation of all departments and their relationship and hierarchy, usually in the form of a tree structure. The organizational chart may consist of the names of departments, divisions, branches and/or operating companies. Sometimes it also includes names of employees.
In a hierarchical organizational structure, the immediate or board of directors is usually at the top of the organizational chart, with the underlying components below. An organizational chart is also sometimes laid out horizontally or concentrically so that the relationship of authority between the parts is less emphatically visible.
Dictionaries originally listed only the spelling organogram, but organigram is also allowed.
