A tablet PC is a one-piece mobile computer system. The size can range from an A4 to an A5 sheet of paper, and tablets are at most a few centimeters thick. The screen (almost always a touchscreen) occupies almost the entire front, which usually also has one or more buttons. With most tablets and operating systems, the user has access to the Internet and the system can be expanded with new features by installing applications as desired.
The size and accessibility of a tablet have made these devices very popular in just a few years. It seems to be the ideal device for working on the couch or on the go. Some tablets can be enhanced with a keyboard and/or docking station, turning them into a full-fledged work system.
Well-known tablet makers are Apple (iPad), Samsung (Galaxy Tab), Microsoft (Surface), Dell and Toshiba. The most popular operating systems for tablets they iOS (Apple), Android (Google) and Windows RT (Microsoft).
