Data visualization is a term used to describe the graphical representation of data or data
indicated. This can include shaping diagrams, charts, graphs,
tables, dashboards, infographics and/or maps.
Data visualization tools can be very valuable for visualizing and being able to analyze trends or patterns in data. Data visualization is seen as an indispensable tool in a world where more and more
use of big data.
Added to this is the fact that humans are naturally visual. Colors and patterns quickly grab attention and hold attention longer compared to focusing on numerical data. Data visualization is especially important
in the big data era where the availability of data has gained momentum.
Data visualization helps tell a story and make it easier to understand. By putting the data into a (visual) form, trends and outliers are better visualized. After all, a good visualization tells a story, takes the noise out of the data and shows the useful information.
