Google image search is a service offered by the search engine to search for specific images on the Internet. This functionality fulfills several objectives. The search engine aims to use image search to provide the ability to easily understand the origin of images, discover the origin of an image or detect the misuse of photos. This service is also offered on websites such as Tineye and Yandex.
Using Google image search
Google image search is easy to use by dragging an image to the search bar of the search engine (Google images). You can use an image from the browser for this or you can use an image that is in your computer (for example, on your desktop or in another document). In addition, you can choose to search by the URL (the Internet address) of the image. Special plug-ins have been developed for both Firefox and Chrome to make it even easier to use this application.
