Email
E-mail, as the name suggests, is electronic mail. E-mail became popular in the mid-1990s, simultaneously with the rise of the Internet, as an alternative means of communication to the telephone and traditional letter. Today, e-mail generally has the status of "written communication.
To receive and send e-mail, one must have an e-mail address and e-mail client (the latter can also be a webmail application ). The e-mail address usually consists of the recipient's name and the domain name of the company or Internet service provider, separated by a hyphen (@).
The fact that sending an e-mail message is virtually free has meant that this medium is also widely used for spreading unwanted advertising(spam) and viruses. Virus scanners and spam filters can eliminate or reduce the nuisance of this.
