Augmented reality
Also called: augmented reality (AR)
In the case of augmented reality, a live, direct or indirect image of reality is formed where digital elements are added. The literal translation of augmented reality is therefore augmented reality (AR). This is when reality is provided with added information. This information can be displayed through an image on glasses but also on a smartphone or on a television. One of the best-known forms of AR is the technique used in soccer to determine whether a player is offside or not. In addition, augmented reality is frequently used in popular apps.
Difference between virtual reality and augmented reality
The terms virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are sometimes mistakenly confused in practice. There is an important difference between virtual reality and augmented reality. In the case of VR, the user is completely cut off from the outside world. Augmented reality aims to ensure that the user continues to see reality but that additional information is added via technology.
