Link juice
The value called "juice" deals with the relevance of a link in link juice. In a nutshell, link juice stands for: The value your Web site gets from having another Web site link to your Web site. Another word for building links to your Web site from other Web sites is link building.
There is a pitfall in increasing link juice, though. Google and other search engines are huge fans of relevance. So you only create valuable link juice when relevant websites link to your website. It should increase your relevance for users and search engine bots. If there are irrelevant links, this is actually going to have a negative effect on your ranking in search results. There is more link juice when linking from pages with:
- Relevant content
- High Page Rank
- Few outbound links
- A high ranking in search results
Link juice? Or SEO?
Determining the value of your website today is no longer handled by link juice. First, Page Rank determined what position your website had in the search results. The more links referred to your website, the higher the Page Rank was. Nowadays this is no longer the case. Now the relevance of search terms entered on your website is considered. So to get a high ranking in the search results, SEO optimization is important. This involves incorporating relevant keywords on your website and making sure that each page best matches users' search queries.
Even though the method of increasing your ranking in search results has changed does not mean that you can no longer use link juice. Relevance through links from other websites is still a good tool for increasing your ranking. So try to use a combination of both SEO/SEA and link juice.
