Sales text
To be findable by search engines, using keywords is important, but well-written sales copy may be just as important. Good sales copy emphasizes what it brings to customers rather than what it sells. The customer wants to know what makes it attractive to them. So try not to focus too much on what your company can do, but focus on the solution you offer to a problem. If you incorporate this on your site along with good keyword density and site structure, a reader and crawler can move well across your site.
How do you write good sales copy?
Before you begin writing a sales pitch, there are a number of aspects to delineate:
- Target audience - Is your target audience young? Then you can implement a more informal writing style. This way the target audience feels more connected to the salesperson
- Solution - What solution are you offering potential customers? What problem does your product or service solve? Visitors are more likely to feel motivated to solve this problem if you give them the reason to use your product or service
- Urgency - Make the problem you are solving urgent and important. Give consequences of the problem you are solving
- Uniqueness - What sets your product or service apart from its competitors? Name the Unique Selling Points (USPs).
- Call to action - Invite the reader to take action. Place a prominent button at the bottom of the text that makes it easy for the reader to convert after being convinced by the sales text
Sales text errors
It's natural to be proud of your work and want to tell all about it. But remember that customers don't know everything about your product or service. For this reason, avoid overly difficult terms, or incorporate them into the text with a brief explanation and what benefit it provides the customer. Also, try not to write too much text on your website. The customer wants to know concisely what they can find with you. This also applies to descriptions of your sales copy. Too many adjectives will make a text monotonous. Choose a few points about your product or service that you emphasize. Some examples of good sales copy are:
- "With our dainty dresses, heels and bags, you will always look radiant."
- "The label, which is awarded only to responsibly produced wood, ..."
- "The fabric, made of extra water-repellent material, remains beautiful during a heavy rain."
