Domain Score
Domain Score (also known as Domain Rating) is a report showing how strong a website's link profile is. This is a search engine ranking factor (SEO) developed and used by the tool Ahrefs. In fact, Domain Rating is one of the main metrics in the Ahrefs methodology. Domain Score gives a picture of how strong a website's backlink profile is. This not only looks at the number of backlinks but especially their quality since the search engine attaches great importance to this when determining the order of search results. The score is shown in a score between 0 and 100. The score from 0 to 100 is based on a logarithmic scale.
Difference between domain score and URL Rating
Domain Score is an application similar to URL Rating. The latter is another SEO tool from Ahrefs. Although the terms are often used interchangeably, there is a clear difference between Domain Score and URL Rating. The former SEO tool focuses primarily on the number of referring domains with a (follow) link to a website. This looks at the domains that link to the entire website. URL Rating primarily maps the strength of the link profile. It looks at the quality and quantity of incoming links to individual web pages. URL Rating is therefore a tool that is more commonly used to indicate potential positions in Google.
