Affiliate Marketing
Also known as: performance-based marketing
In this form of online marketing, advertisers pay for the display of their ads based on results. In affiliate marketing, a website that places a banner or text link does not earn from the number of impressions or clicks on this ad, but receives, for example, a percentage of the revenue generated by referred visitors.
Much of the affiliate marketing market is facilitated by specialized affiliate networks, which bring advertisers and publishers together and handle the administration and billing of campaigns.
