Google Ads
Also known as: Google AdWords
Google Ads is Google's advertising program. Launched in 2000, the program has become Google's primary revenue model. In 2018, Google renamed Google AdWords to Google Ads.
Google Ads allows organizations to advertise in Google' s search results and partner websites. Although sponsored search results are clicked less frequently than "organic" listings, Google Ads can be an interesting means of attracting more visitors to a Web site. Paid results are displayed at the top of the results pages.
Advertisers determine within AdWords which keywords they want to be findable on. They pay Google from their ad credit an amount for each click on their ad. The cost per click(CPC) is determined on the basis of an auction model in which the competition within a keyword, bids of advertisers, position of the ad and quality of the landing page of the advertiser are taken into account.
