Bing
Bing is a search engine for the worldwide Web developed by Microsoft. Bing was launched in 2009 with the goal of gaining a large share of the online search market, after previously having barely succeeded with its predecessors MSN Search and Windows Live Search. With Bing, Microsoft effectively opened the attack on Google Search.
Like Google, Bing offers users organic search results ranked by relevance and authority, supplemented by sponsored search results. The search engine offers integration with a number of other services within Bing and from partners. Notable is the extent to which Bing gives users suggestions to refine search results.
Despite all Microsoft's efforts, including marketing, Bing does not control much more than one percent of the search market in the Netherlands.
