Grey Hat SEO
Grey hat SEO is a term that refers to the way search engine optimization is applied. In addition to black hat SEO and white hat SEO, we also know Grey hat SEO. As the term suggests, this involves going into the gray area.
Grey hat SEO is used (as with the other forms mentioned above) to strive to improve its position on the search results page of the search engine. However, this pushes the boundaries of Google's guidelines.
This involves the use of convenient tricks that do not fully meet the reasons why Google applies these guidelines but are rated as a legitimate SEO technique (i.e., white hat SEO). A well-known example of grey hat SEO is link building.
After all, Google prefers that links (recommendations from other websites) be earned and not acquired. In this way, the search engine's spiders are more likely to visit a Web site, causing a particular Web page to rank faster and higher in search results.
However, a search engine like google does not like to be controlled and strives to get a line in the optimization rules with Google algorithm updates. Therefore, there is a chance that various grey hat SEO techniques will be seen as black hat SEO in the future.
