Tweet
A tweet is a short status update of up to 140 characters via the social media platform Twitter. Through these status updates, Twitter users indicate what is on their minds. Tweets appear in their own Twitter stream and those of followers and can be found through Twitter's internal search engine.
A retweet is a Twitter message from another user that is forwarded through one's own timeline.
