Facebook EdgeRank
EdgeRank is an algorithm for the Facebook News Feed. Namely, this algorithm determines which articles end up on the news feed. The only problem is that EdgeRank was replaced by Facebook's artificial intelligence system in 2011. But that doesn't mean we can't talk about what EdgeRank is and what effect it has had on online marketing. The developer of the EdgeRank algorithm is named Serkan Piantino. He established three criteria by which it determines which articles are displayed in the Facebook News Feed:
- The distance and relationship between the user and the content
- After seeing the content, it looks at the action the user takes
- The novelty content: the newer the posts are the better they score and are displayed more often
Unfortunately, Facebook did not release the other factors involved.

The algorithm of the Facebook newsfeed has been automated since 2011. Today, there are more than 100,000 parameters that determine which articles are visible on the personal newsfeed. This has made organic appearance on the news feed timeline virtually impossible. The only way to be somewhat certain that your article is visible on the timeline is through paid advertising. This is especially true for commercial use of the newsfeed relative to personal posts.
Facebook's problem is the bubble created by the excess of personalization. This is also known as the Facebook "bubble." Facebook users only get to see what matches their opinions and interests due to the large implementation of relevance. This includes political views which a lot of people say has a lot of impact on society because it polarizes groups.
