Retweet
Retweeting is quoting a Twitter message to bring its content to the attention of one's own followers on the social networking site Twitter. Sharing other people's posts is possible on various social media.
For a long time, the retweet was not a feature of Twitter itself. Retweeting originated among users of the social platform by quoting messages in the following manner: "RT @namevangeuser (...message...)." Later, Twitter built in a special retweet button, allowing messages to be forwarded 1:1 to one's own timeline and those of followers.
Adjustments in timeline composition allow posts that are liked to appear in the timeline of their own followers in addition to retweets.
