Sharing is the act on social media of forwarding a post to one's timeline, making it visible to one's friends or followers. This message can be a post posted by another user, but with some websites, it can also be an external link or image.
An example of a social media platform where posts can be shared is Facebook. When posts are posted on Facebook, a "Share" button appears. In addition, websites can include an interactive share button on their website to easily share Web pages. The feature on Twitter to share other people's posts is called retweet.
