Run of channel
Also known as: roc
Run of network means that ads from an online ad campaign are shown within one specific channel of an ad network, which consists of similar websites.
The advertiser chooses the channel within which his banners or text links are displayed. He has no influence on how often his ads are displayed on which site. Because channels are classified largely according to interests and other characteristics of visitors, a large reach within a particular target group can be generated at relatively low cost with run of channel.
Examples of possible channels that can be run within an ad network: men, sports, lifestyle, ict and food and drink. Some ad networks have focused entirely on one particular theme.
Other forms of online media planning are run of network and run of site.
