Advertising credit
Also called: advertising credit or ad credit
Advertising credit is an outstanding amount of money that can be spent on placing ads. Many ad networks, including those of Google and Facebook, operate with ad credits. The English term for ad credit is ad credit.
When an advertiser starts a campaign, the cost of displaying banners or clicking on links is paid from the ad credit.
Payment
Working with an ad credit is a form of prepaid payment. It assures the ad network of payment for the banners, text links and/or other expressions that are placed.
An ad credit can be manually upgraded using a credit card or another form of online payment offered such as PayPal or iDEAL. Many ad agencies and networks require authorization to automatically top up the ad credit.
Free ad credit
Offering free ad credit is a widely used method of recruiting new advertisers. This makes it easy to get acquainted with an advertising platform. In fact, advertising up to a certain amount for free via Google Ads or Facebook, for example, results in free conversion. Advertising networks naturally hope that the new customer will stick around and top up the advertising credit by making a payment after the free credit is used up.
To qualify for free credit, a promotional code must generally be entered when registering a new account. When a valid code is used, the ad credit is upgraded once by the promised amount. Codes are distributed both digitally and through physical coupons, vouchers and advertisements.
