Tail Letter
Also known as: descender
A tail letter is a letter that extends as a small letter in part below the x-height and setting line (on which all letters "sit"). The size of the sticks is expressed as the tail height.
The tail letters are: g, j, p, q, ij and y.
Letters just above the x-height are called stick letters.
