Output rule
The starting line is the last line of a paragraph. This line does not fill the entire typesetting width, so a white space follows between the end of the line and the margin. From this it is easy to recognize the end of a paragraph. When a text is filled out, this is usually not done with exit lines.
Sometimes there is a blank line between the opening line and the following paragraph. This additionally emphasizes the resting point between paragraphs and especially makes reading texts from a screen more pleasant.
An unwritten rule when formatting text is that exit lines should contain at least three words and should not end up on the first line of a subsequent page.
