White line
Also called: empty line
A blank line is a line of text left blank within a text. The blank line can be between paragraphs, between text headings and paragraphs, and between other textual or graphic components.
The skipped space is often intended to create a resting point within a text, making the formatting clearer and easier to read.
In texts that will be read from a screen, such as Web pages, it is quite common to maintain white space between each paragraph. In print, white space is basically only used between different parts such as sections and headings.
