Home printer
An in-house printer is the permanent printing department of a company or organization. In-house printers can be either in-house and owned printing departments (and therefore part of the organization itself) or permanent external suppliers where all printing is outsourced.
The advantage of working with an in-house printer is the ability to work with fixed product specifications, delivery specifications, rates and agreements on work processes. By working with an in-house printer, an organization assures itself of continuity in matters such as quality, cost price and delivery times and conformity with the corporate identity.
In-house or external
If the in-house printer or publisher is owned and operated, as a client, although printing and graphic media is not your core business, you have direct influence on the policies and day-to-day operations of the printing company. In the role of both client and contractor, you can directly influence things like quality and scheduling. For example, you determine which raw materials are purchased, and any rush job does not have to compete with other clients.
When the in-house printer is an external party, the advantages are mainly in the area of keeping appointments and expectations and meeting requirements. Also, working with a regular in-house printer often brings lower costs because discounts can be offered due to the frequency and size of the jobs.
