Return on investment
Also known as: ROI or return on advertising spend (ROAS)
Return on investment (ROI) indicates the ratio of revenue to investment. It is usually expressed as a percentage. A company that spent 1500 euros for a certain activity and earned 3000 euros from it, then has an ROI of 200%. An investment can also fail completely. If the investment results in a loss then the return on investment is a number less than 100%.
A special form of ROI is return on advertising spend (ROAS). This specifically expresses the increase in operating income as a result of ads.
