Go/no-go
Go/no-go is when the decision is made to proceed with a project, assignment, campaign or activity. Instead of deciding early on whether to proceed with a plan, it is first worked out in more detail. This allows all the details, including costs, opportunities and threats, to be worked out first.
The go/no-go moment is the point at which the final decision is made (usually by senior management) whether the plan can go forward. Before this decision is made, an assessment is made to see if the project meets all relevant requirements to allow it to proceed and if there are no impeding objections.
When giving a green light, we speak of a go; when withdrawing a plan, we speak of a no-go.
