Dumping
Dumping involves putting large quantities of products on sale at a comparatively too low price. The purpose of dumping is often to get rid of excess inventory or to gain or increase market position in a particular country.
Items that are dumped were often originally intended for sale in another country. Dumping is sometimes seen as a form of unfair competition. Many countries have regulations designed to combat dumping. These can include anti-dumping duties, where a corrective levy must be paid to protect local producers and market players.
