Month to date
Also known as: MTD
Month to date is the period from the first day of the month to a given date during that month. The term is common in the context of business performance. Month to date results refers to the results from the current month to today.
By comparing these results with the same period of the previous month, insight can be gained into performance in the current month. It should be noted, however, that figures from a short period may be less representative. Also, figures can be heavily influenced by the fact that most companies have strong sales differences between the days of the week.
