Google Bard
After the huge success of ChatGPT (Microsoft), Google could not be left behind and has launched its own chat robot Bard in February 2023.
What is Google Bard?
Bard is based on LaMDA and is incorporated into Google Search. Google is increasingly focusing on using artificial intelligence in everyday life, with the Google Assistant being the most concrete expression of this. ChatGPT, based on language model GPT-3, was a challenge for Google because this chatbot provides quick answers to Internet-based questions. Bard, based on LaMDA, is meant to have a real conversation with an artificial intelligence and is currently in test phase with a small group of users.
The first version of Google Bard
Google states that the first version of Bard is limited and focuses on security and quality of the chatbot's responses. Google CEO Pichai emphasizes that Bard not only provides high-quality texts, but also reliable information. This is Google's biggest challenge as the company's image is at stake. Whether Bard will do as well as ChatGPT depends on how far Google dares to go in letting go of control over the chatbot.
