Edit
Editing is reviewing and improving a written text before it is published.
Corrections made during editing may be to improve:
- Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and other imperfections;
- The structure of the text, for example, to convey a message more clearly;
- Modifying a text to make it fit better in the formatting, usually involving truncation.
Editing focuses mainly on improving the form of a text. The message itself remains intact. At most, textual errors and factual inaccuracies are corrected.
Editing texts is often the job of an editor or final editor.
