Epilogue
Also called: afterword
An epilogue or afterword is additional text after the end a story or article in which the writer addresses the reader directly. The epilogue can be thought of as an extra chapter, which may be one or more pages long. An epilogue provides additional explanation of the previous text, or briefly summarizes how the story continued after the end.
The term epilogue is also sometimes used in a metaphorical sense. For example, for the last day of a multi-day sporting event, on which the final victory has often already been determined. An example is the Tour de France.
