Point of view
Also called: POV or perspective
Point of view is a term denoting the perspective of a text. There are several types of point of view:
- The writer or speaker can be objective (neutral point of view) or subjective (point of view).
- Point of view also refers to a text 's target audience. Are these customers, and if so which ones, or another target audience? The form and content of a text can be tailored to the intended reader.
- In literature, point of view can also be about the type of narrator. A story can be written in the I form or in the second person.
