Web 2.0
Web 2.0 is the name for a generation of websites that shaped the development of the Internet into a communication tool. The term dates back to 2014. Around that year, the Internet developed into an interactive medium. Website visitors were given the opportunity not only to read or download web pages but also to add to them in the form of comments. Because of this development, user-created content gained more and more value. In addition, platforms were developed on which users could post photos, design their own profiles and/or place advertisements. After all, participation was an important part of Web 2.0, as it still is today. Web 2.0 therefore stands for connecting with other people online. To fulfill this desire, new techniques were applied (for the time). Whereas Web 1.0 was still based on simple HTML techniques, Web 2.0 technology was based on XML, JavaScript and server-side scripting, among others. These interactive applications were often designed using AJAX using technologies such as XHTML, CSS, DOM, XML, XSLT and JavaScript.
