Hit
Each time a file is downloaded when a Web page is requested, we refer to it as a "hit. In addition to the page itself, an Internet page often includes a series of images, script files and style sheets. Each 'request' of such a file can be registered on the server as a hit.
Some statistics programs show the number of hits a Web site has.
