Bounce rate
Also called: refusal rate
Bounce rate or rejection rate is the percentage of visitors who viewed only one page during their visit to a Web site, as compared to the total number of visitors. They left the website after visiting the first page without taking any further action. Thus, the entry page here was also the exit page.
A high bounce rate could theoretically mean that many visitors are finding the information they were looking for right away. Usually, however, the opposite is true. In the quest to increase conversions, it is important to keep the bounce rate as low as possible. One way to do this is to ensure that visitors are presented with the right conent and can easily navigate to related information.
