Recommerce
Also known as: reverse commerce
Recommerce is a business model focused on selling and/or exchanging used products. Well-known examples of platforms that focus on selling used products are Marktplaats and Vinted. In addition to these c2c constructions, many b2c constructions are also emerging, in which companies choose to integrate a recommerce service into their business model. In this case, web shops (active in the clothing or furniture sector, among others) offer their customers the opportunity to buy used products but also to offer their own items to the web shop. In return, customers receive a voucher for another purchase at the webshop in question, creating a form of customer loyalty. Reverse commerce offers an excellent response to the desire for distance shopping and the desire to make sustainable choices in the process.
