The scope indicates the scope of something, how far something extends. Determining a scope is useful when conducting a study or setting up a project, among other things. The scope determines where the focus will be and where it will end. The scope includes where the boundaries of a project are and what falls within and outside of them.
A scope can be defined, among other things, based on the desired result or limited by the available budget. For example, a scope can be delineated by setting an objective with the work to be performed for it, designating a geographic area or making certain resources available. The desired outcome defines the scope and the defined scope defines the end result.
Because the translations scope and extension do not quite cover the load, in practice, simply the English scope is usually used.
