Visit
Also called: visit or session
A visit is a series of page views by one unique visitor to a website within a certain period of time. To demarcate a visit, most statistics programs use a maximum interval between page views or link the visit to the browser session. Cookies are usually used to link views to unique visitors.
Thus, a unique visitor may be responsible for multiple visits in a given period, and a visit includes one or more page views. Certain characteristics can be assigned to a visit, such as source, entry page, page views, and exit page.
