Effie Awards
Also known as: EFFIEs
The Effie Awards are the annual professional awards for effective marketing communications. The awards are presented in more than 30 countries worldwide. The Effie Awards were established in 1968 by the American Marketing Association.
Since 1983 there has also been a Dutch edition of the Effie Awards. The organization of the Dutch EFFIEs is in the hands of industry organizations BVA and VEA. The Effie Award is the most important communication award in our country.
Awards are presented in several categories. Submitted campaigns must have had a significant or decisive role in achieving extraordinary marketing results.
The four categories are:
- Behavioral campaigns Long
- Behavioral Campaigns Brief
- Brand campaigns
- Social campaigns
Each category has its own jury, whose members come from both advertisers and agencies. Within their category, the juries choose both the campaigns and the color to earn the awards (gold, silver or bronze). In a subsequent round, the winners and jury reports are finalized and determined by a main jury in which all categories are represented.
