Walk-through store
A walk-through store is a store with a set walking route that leads customers throughout the store. Because customers walk past departments they would not normally visit, a walk-through store could create additional sales. The route through the store is indicated by wide paths, sometimes supported by lines or arrows.
In some cases, walk-through stores have cut-throughs or shortened routes to give visitors the freedom to shorten their walking route. This avoids having to go through the entire store for one product anyway and thus prevents possible customer irritation. The layout of these stores remains focused on enticing visitors to stay on the walk-through route as much as possible.
Many large furniture stores and garden centers are set up as walk-through stores.
