Queue
Also called: queue
Queue (pronounced "kjoe") is the English word for queue. This in turn is derived from the French word for tail.
The term is used within various fields within marketing. For example, for the physical queue of waiting customers in front of a store checkout, for a queue of incoming phone calls on hold until callers can be answered, or for a collection of e-mail messages that have been prepared for transmission (mail queue).
Reducing and mitigating wait times is also known as queue management.
