White Spots Plan
Some companies create a white-spot plan to identify where there are opportunities to grow.
For a retail chain, a white spot is a city or region where there are no branches of the chain yet. On a white spot plan, these spots will be identified as potential places where a new store could open in the future.
In theory, white spots could be located anywhere in the world, but a white spot plan is usually limited to a defined geographic operating area that can be served by the underlying organization. Consider constraints in logistics and marketing.
The term is very similar to the term spot plan, a rough layout for a store or commercial building.
